There are many different techniques available for improving female vocal range. We will share our top tips for helping any female improve and increase her vocal range.
Technique Is Important
Using proper singing techniques will drastically help, and the way to do this is by singing with an open throat. The best way to do this is by keeping the larynx at a resting position.
It is important to stand up as straight as possible. By standing up straight and maintaining this position, it will be easier to control your breathing as you sing. Finally, you should not breathe in via your shoulders and neck. Instead, you’ll want to breathe from your diaphragm.
Gradually Warm Up
This may be a basic tip, but a lot of people actually don’t do this. Many will often do a quick warm-up and then they start singing right away. The best thing to do is to gradually warm-up instead of just going through a warm-up routine as fast as possible.
Simply start off with a hum, and keep humming for a few minutes. Keep the humming low before working up to louder humming before moving on to more advanced warm-up methods.
As a general rule of thumb, you should spend a good 20 minutes warming up. You should do this every single time you are going to be singing. The more warming up you do, the more improvements you’ll eventually see for increasing your vocal range.
Relax
Be sure that you relax the muscles in the throat when attempting to hit those high note. Too often, people naturally tense up their bodies as they sing. This can lead to straining the vocal cords. In turn, the vocal range will be reduced.
Be sure your feet are completely flat on the ground. By maintaining this position and by remaining as relaxed as possible, you should be able to see an improvement in your vocal range to start hitting higher notes on key.
Stay Hydrated
Amateur singers may not realize that drinking warm liquids such as warm water or a warm cup of tea can help their voice. It’s a good idea to drink such liquids right before you are going to sing or in between sets.
Warm liquids will prevent the throat from becoming dry, and in turn increase vocal range. It might also be a good idea to drink warm liquids regularly, even on days a person isn’t singing because this will keep the throat and vocal cords moist and prevent them from becoming too dry.
Open Your Mouth and Keep Your Chin Up
It might seem like a no-brainer but it’s important to open up your mouth wide when reaching for those high notes. Tilt your chin upward and open your mouth wide. Holding your chin down will push the larynx down and you will need to make room for it to rise by keeping your chin up high.
Improving a female vocal range is possible with these and tips. However, it is important for a person to be consistent. The more you practice, the more your vocal range will improve.
